Sunday: A Make or Break Game For the 2015 Cleveland Browns

Now why is this week a must win for the Browns? We can start by saying that most NFL teams with the Browns schedule would be 4-0 or 3-1 at worst so far. They managed to look poor in every game besides the defense in week two and the offense last week. They have yet to find a way to run the ball with a great offensive line. McCown and Johnny Manziel both hold onto the football way too long.

The amount of strip sacks that have occurred already is starting to get close to the amount of beers I need to drink to get me through watching this team play. The “strength” of the team, the defense, has looked pathetic.

The amount of time we dedicated to stopping the run this offseason has us second last with Miami finally overtaking us in the disaster department. Finally, our deep secondary has been thinned out with injuries to Tashaun Gipson, Joe Haden, K’Waun Williams, and Charles Gaines, with Justin Gilbert being Justin Gilbert.

We could also talk about only having two starters out of nine picks in the first three rounds the past two years but that can be saved for a fire Ray Farmer article when they decide to get rid of Dwayne Bowe and his nine million dollars. Matt Stafford has more catches this year than Bowe to put things in perspective. Like any Browns fan time to end the rant and focus back on the point.

The Browns season set up favorably or unfavorably to start the year depending on how you look at it. They were scheduled three easy opponents, each finishing last in their division for the first three weeks. With them being the easiest three on the schedule, they needed to go 3-0 or 2-1 at worst to compete.

This could have set some momentum for later in the year when they are hitting the tough part of their schedule because it gets Dark Souls brutal. Other people may look at it as a negative with a new QB coming in and the team needing maybe a couple of weeks to gel and would like easier opponents down the line. Either way, you can’t change the schedule.

The Browns now sit at 1-3 with one last chance to try and right the ship. After this week, they play BAL, CIN x2, PIT x2, DEN, STL, ARI, SF, SEA, and KC.

The San Francisco game is likely to be the only one they will be favorites for. They might be able to squeeze a win over St. Louis with the Rams offense not being great. Kansas City might be the only other possibility with how bad their pass defense is but anybody going into Arrowhead and winning is rare.
