St. Ignatius Defeats Parma 49-0, As Parma Looks To Regroup In Conference Play

This game recap is sponsored by Rain Barrels N’ More.

It was a game for St. Ignatius to bounce back, and they did just that.

Going into a game against Parma, the Wildcats looked to tune up all areas of play before the three-game road trip. The Redmen looked to make a huge statement and defeat the Wildcats.

Senior Quarterback Patrick Ryan had a short night, but it was very effective. Ryan was 6-6 with 90 yards and a touchdown. Ryan saw about a quarter and a half of action before getting it to the back-ups.

Ryan started off his night with a throw to Connor Kennedy for 52 yards leading to a touchdown. The running back duo of James Andrews and Mark Bobinski saw only a short amount of playing time before getting rested the rest of the game, but both of them left their mark on the game. Andrews finished with 21 yards on three carries with a rushing touchdown. Bobinski had three carries 32 yards and a rushing touchdown. At halftime, the Wildcats led 28-0.

The second half had a running clock for most of the time. St. Ignatius got a lot of players in on both sides of the ball, and Parma got to look at what they have.

Bright spots for Parma have to be the maturity of Kyle Lyon, the starting quarterback who does a great job leading this team. Also, Jonah Bagby showed what is to come in the running game. Bagby had 12 carries for 38 yards and is only a Sophomore.

In the end, St. Ignatius got the victory over Parma with a final score of 49-0. St. Ignatius is now 5-1, as Parma drops to 4-2.

After the game, St. Ignatius Quarterback Patrick Ryan spoke on the win and the outlook on the rest of the season.

“Every game is a must win game here on out for us. Last year was the same mentality. I think we’re a little bit more fired up though because the last road trip didn’t go so well. We want to bounce back before the big boys down south come up.”
