Six Browns to Watch in the 2017 Season

2.) S Jabrill Peppers

Jabrill was a controversial draft prospect coming out of Michigan this past season. Scouts said that he lacked a true position in the NFL, was not productive in college, and even had a failed drug test at the Combine.

Sashi Brown also passed up on taking Malik Hooker to move back before taking Peppers so the local Buckeyes fans are going to be even more hard-pressed on him to succeed. Cleveland’s secondary allowed more passing touchdowns than any other team in 2016 and Peppers is one piece of a unit that has been almost completely remodeled to improve in 2017.

With a lack of a true return man last season too, he needs to contribute on special teams and make plays when the ball can get in his hands. Fans need better than Mario Alford, Justin Gilbert, Raheem Mostert, Marlon Moore, and Fozzy Whittaker as some of their main returners since Joshua Cribbs left.

It also does not help that the Browns have not returned a kickoff for a touchdown since 2009. Peppers has a chance to make a major impact immediately.
