Preview: Clevinger Takes the Mound as Indians and Royals Tangle in Kansas City

1. Clevinger’s Final Warmup

Indians starter Mike Clevinger will take the mound tonight for the Indians, making his final start before the postseason. Terry Francona said that Clevinger will be in the mix for game three of the playoffs against Houston, basically meaning he will start the Monday home game.

Clevinger didn’t get a start in the ALDS against the Yankees a year ago, and many fans felt like he earned it. He’s been even better in 2018, so this time the team has decided he’s done enough, so expect him to get ready for the postseason by trying to get his 13th win tonight.

In his last outing, Clevinger allowed two runs in five innings against Boston at Progressive Field last weekend in an Indians 5-4 win.
