Players to Love and Hate in Week Two Of Fantasy Football

Hates:

QB Tom Brady NE $8,300

The Bills held the fantasy favorite Andrew Luck to 18 points last week in a game where the Colts had to play from behind the entire time. Rex Ryan has done well against Brady in the past and if they can shut down the run game too, then Brady could be in trouble.

QB Cam Newton $7,700

The Panthers struggled last week against Jacksonville and now this week they get the Texans a.k.a. JJ Watt. With the lack of weapons at WR, Newton may have to hold onto the ball longer leaving room for the Texans pass rush.

QB Marcus Mariota TEN $7,400

I’m not buying into the one-week hype of Mariota. He played a very bad defense in Tampa last week and now he has to go against Haden, Gipson, and Whitner. That’s not going to be as an easy of a task especially when most of his yards came because of short throws that the receivers broke. Expect a couple of picks and I’m going with a Browns victory on Sunday.

RB Lesean Mccoy BUF $8,100

Lesean is dealing with a hamstring injury which already can hamper but on top of that it doesn’t seem to matter whether he is in Philly or Buffalo that he’s going to get vultured. The Bills scored two rushing touchdowns last week that came by way of Boobie Dixon and Karlos Williams.

RB Frank Gore IND $7,000

Gore struggled last week against the Bills. This week he has to go up against another good defensive front in the Jets that held the top two rushers they faced last week to be quarterbacks. This doesn’t fare well for an aging Gore.

RB Todd Gurley STL $6,300

Gurley is coming back from a major knee injury and has to play so far this season. If he does come back this week I expect the Rams to limit his carries and ease him back into the rotation not making for a breakout performance that some people might be expecting from a first round pick.

WR Alshon Jeffery CHI $8,100

If you get rid of Willie Snead’s one long catch last week, the Cardinals defense did not allow 50 yards receiving to a single Saints TE or WR. The focus will be on Alshon this week for the Cardinals.

WR Amari Cooper OAK $6,700

The Ravens held the Broncos without an offensive touchdown last week. While Carr looks like he’s going to play this week, his finger may not be 100 percent and he will also be facing a good CB in Jimmy Smith.

TE Rob Gronkowski NE $8,300

I don’t totally hate Gronk this week, but he makes my hate list because way too many people are going to pick him based on his performance last week. The Steelers defense is going to be awful this year and didn’t even bother covering him on plays last week. The Bills will not make the same mistake. I would assume Gronk will still probably get a TD this week but at his cost compared to some of the other TEs out there I’m not a fan of his matchup this week.

D Panthers $4,700

The Texans looked much better last week after Mallett came into the game in the fourth quarter and put up 11 points. The Panthers offense may not sustain a lot of drives giving the Texans quite a bit of opportunities to move the ball. With the star of the Panthers D, Luke Kuechly looking doubtful, this game looks like trouble for the Panthers.
