Ohio State vs Virginia Tech: 4 Reasons OSU Will Lose, 4 Reasons They Will Win

2. Ohio State’s suspensions and injuries

After Thomas, the Buckeyes get very thin at WR, thanks to a series of events from recent weeks. WR Noah Brown broke his leg in practice and is out for the year. He was expected to start and be a big contributor this season.

H-back Jalin Marshall will be suspended for the Virginia Tech game. The same goes for H-Back Dontre Wilson and WR Corey Smith. This puts a major hole in the receiving corps.

Yes, Braxton Miller will be on the field catching passes, and he is the two-time offensive player of the year in the Big Ten. But those awards came at QB. He’s playing his first game at receiver, and that is not an easy transition to make.

Born and raised a Buckeye fan, Jeff Seemann has been covering sports in Ohio for 25 years. He attended The Ohio State University in 1987, where he went to more football games than classes. As a result, he is now (finally) finishing his degree at the University of Cincinnati. He claims to have been in attendance at Earle Bruce's final game (a win over That Team Up North), the Browns' double-OT win over the NY Jets, and the game known as "The Shot". He is only fond of recalling the memories of two of those games. Feel free to annoy him on Twitter at @JeffFromOhio
