NFL Draft: The Browns Need One if not many Wide Receivers – Who SHOULD it Be?

Michael Thomas

Michael Thomas – OHIO STATE

21 years old, 6’ 3”, 210 lbs, 32 in. arm length, 34 in. vertical, 4.5 dash

Career (2012, 2014-1015): 113 receptions for 1602 yards and 18 rec TDs, 14 avg

Thomas is the nephew of former USC and NFL stud receiver Keyshawn Johnson, which foreshadows a pretty successful pro career potentially. Coaches decided to redshirt Thomas in 2013 for “consistency and academics”, hopefully the assumed attitude change is for real.

Still has work to do on mechanics, but still a good route runner. Could develop into a number one wide receiver in a year or two but has a tremendous upside, could have the highest ceiling in the draft considering the program he comes from and the pedigree. Most likely a second round pick.
