NEOSI Chats with Fox Sports NFL Kickoff Host Charissa Thompson

Matt: Yeah, well hopefully by bringing some light to it we can get less and less of these headlines as people are made aware of it. So, moving on to more of the on the field stuff, you’re based in LA and there’s been a great deal of talk about NFL franchises possibly relocating to LA, how do you think an NFL franchise would be received and is there controversy over which franchise fans would prefer to move to LA?

Charissa: Oh of course there’s controvery. Chargers fans are not happy about the idea of their team potentially leaving. Nobody wants their team to leave. I’ll speak from experience as a Seattle girl, when my Sonics were relocated to Oklahoma City, you know you’re a fan for a reason. You feel pride and you take ownership in that being your franchise. Think of a team actually leaving, like even for the Rams when they left LA initially. There’s a lot of opinion on that. Would I like to see a team in LA? Absolutely. I’m gonna be caught in Dodgers traffic this afternoon because the city is ignited when good things are happening to their team. All you have to do is even look at the resurgence of the Clippers, it’s always been a Lakers-Town, but now there’s this uprising of Clippers fans, whether they’re bandwagon or not. Sports bring people together. So bring the number one sport, the NFL, into the city of Los Angeles, I think it would be amazing. Now other fans of the teams in their cities will be left behind, but that’s sort of just the nature of business.

Matt: Well, I tell you what being from Cleveland we can definitely relate.

Charissa: Which is why you were so elated with your overtime victory over the Ravens last week.

Matt: That was great. That was a little bit of satisfaction for this season. So you mentioned the Dodgers traffic you’ll be running into tonight, how electric is the city when it comes to the Dodgers right now and do you think they got a shot to win game 5?

Charissa: Of course they have a shot. Greinke’s on the mound, his numbers speak for themselves. The dude had like, what a 1.9 E.R.A. in the postseason and then at home, this is gonna be a very low-scoring game. de Grom’s on the mound for the Mets and Greinke for the Dodgers, it’ll be up to the batters to produce some runs cause those guys are really gonna hand it to anybody, that’s for sure. So I expect to be low-scoring, but yeah game 5? If this postseason has been any indication of the enthusiasm for baseball just take a look at the 7th inning of the Toronto game last night, for example. It’s been an incredible run and now you have the Mets and Cubs, who have been starving for success. It’s a good time in baseball and October has not disappointed, that’s for sure.

Matt: Yeah, this has been a great postseason and the two Cy-Young candidates for the Dodgers are the reason why I picked them to win the World Series, but they’ll have to get through de Grom tonight that’ll be a great game to watch. So what’s next for your career? Where can people find your work in the future?

Charissa: Well, what’s next right now is Biotrue. Which is why I’m talking to you. I’m very busy and I’m appreciative of all the different jobs that I have, but for me in order to continue to do those jobs, I need to make sure that I can see because I’m so contact-dependent, before using Biotrue my contacts were always dry. I’m watching TV constantly or on my phone keeping updated on scores and also in the entertainment world since I work for “Extra” as well, so for me I’m very reliant and that’s why I’m taking with the Biotrue Challenge to make sure that I can see because they keep my lenses moist for up to 20 hours, which is so important because right now I’m working 7 days a week and honestly I don’t really have time to think about things such as contacts and keeping my contacts moist. So that’s sort of what’s happening in my world right now is all entertainment and all sports.

Matt: Well, I’m sure a lot of the fans of our site have glasses and contacts so that will be some valuable information for them to check out. So where can our fans follow you on Twitter?

Charissa: Well, for more information on Biotrue, make sure you check out Biotruechallenge.com. and for me on Twitter I’m @CharissaT and on Instagram I’m @CharissaJThompson.

Matt: Thank you for your time we greatly appreciate it. Best of luck in your future endeavors.

Charissa: Of course, thanks for having me.
