The King beats the buzzer as the Cavs get a much-needed lift; three takeaways

3. They literally tried!

This was the one key we had going into this game. The Cavs came in on Wednesday and gave a good effort for 48 minutes, and carried that over into overtime.

After a couple of ugly losses, Wednesday night’s game had moments of adversity where the Cavs didn’t simply bend to the will of their opposition. In the end, it paid off with LeBron James’ clutch shot.

An exciting win like this has the potential to be a signature one. Of course, nothing is a given, but hopefully the Cavs can build off of some of the teamwork and excitement they showed down the stretch.

“It’s big from camaraderie,” Lue said. “When you make a big shot like that and the whole team’s on the floor chest bumping, that’s a great sign, and that’s how we’ve got to be. I think we gotta enjoy the game more. I know there’s a lot of talk and a lot of stuff out there media-wise, but all in all, we live a great life. We’ve just gotta have fun and enjoy the game of basketball.”
