James Dominates Early; Cavs Even Up Best of Seven Against Pacers with 100-97 Win in Game 2

3. Defense?

Coming into the series everyone was curious to see how the Cavaliers defense would fare, considering it was one of the worst team defenses in the NBA. Through two games the Cavaliers have surrendered 98 and 97 points, and two games holding the Pacers under 100 points looks good in the box score.

But the eye test tells a different story. While the Cavaliers are doing a great job of mixing up their defensive schemes to keep the Pacers guessing on offense, they are still getting lazy possessions. As well as the offense played at times, the defensive effort lacked at times. Whether it was the blitzing they did on Victor Oladipo to get the ball out of his hands, or the late rotations, these things need to be cleaned up for the Cavs to win Game 3.
