Indians Open Up a Six Game Homestand Starting Against Detroit

CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Indians are coming off a road trip where they went 5-2 against the Detroit Tigers and Texas Rangers.

Tonight, they start three game weekend series against the Tigers. This is the beginning of a six game homestand.

The Indians come into tonight’s game with a 39-35 record this season.

The Tribe sits nine games behind the Minnesota Twins for first place in the AL Central. The Tigers are in full rebuild mode. They are 26-44 on the season.

On the mound for the tribe is right-handed pitcher Trevor Bauer. Bauer comes into tonight’s game with a record of 5-6 with an 3.41 ERA.

Bauer is coming off the best start of the season and maybe even his career. He went nine shutout innings against the Detroit Tigers his last start.

He went 9 innings, 4 hits, 8 strikeouts. Bauer has been subjected to trade rumors since the offseason.

With him starting get going and on a roll. Bauer’s value is increasing.

On the mound for the Detroit Tigers is left-handed pitcher Matthew Boyd.

The southpaw is 5-5 on the season with a 3.35 ERA. Boyd lost his last time out. He went 4 innings, 6 hits, 5 runs, 4 earned, 1 home run, 2 walks, 7 strikeouts verse the Kansas City Royals.
