Indians Name Scott Atchison as Teams’ New Bullpen Coach

The Indians hired Carl Willis as the teams’ new pitching coach last week after the departure of Mickey Calloway, who was hired to be the new manager of the New York Mets, and now the team has a new bullpen coach.

Paul Hoynes of Cleveland.com reports the team has hired one-time Indians pitcher Scott Atchison to replace Jason Bere as their bullpen coach.

Atchison inked a minor league deal with the Indians back in January of 2014, and finished 6-0 with a 2.75 ERA. He pitched in 7 games, and was released the following June.

He has spent the last two years as the team’s advance coach and staff assistant.
