As the Polar Bears took the field, they were met by numerous JHS alumni football players. The Jackson Student Section was dressed in all pink to support Breast Cancer Awareness. This evening, Jackson welcomed the McKinley Bulldogs. The Bulldog’s start with possession of the ball. In their series, McKinley’s center hikes the ball way over the head of their QB/#1 Keaton Rode. Rode chases the ball down and then launches a bomb to #19 Deejay Britt…. Touchdown Bulldogs. The PAT was no good.

McK: 6 JHS: 0

Jackson would then have an incredible quick and powerful march down the field. The Bear’s QB, Ecrement, connecting several times with #21 Kyle Benson. Next, Ecrement successfully keeping the ball for first and goal. Here We Go JHS: TOUCHDOWN – POLAR BEARS!!! JHS: 7 McK: 6

As McKinley’s offense takes the field, Jackson’s defense continued to work tremendously hard against the huge Bulldog offensive line. The Bear’s, Foster Stanley, Cooper Geissinger, Anthony Fuline, and the entire defensive team put a stop to those Dogs….no touchdown. Jackson’s Kyle Benson has an incredible return to set up the Polar Bears for a possible score. McKinley regains possession and scores a field as the game clock winds down in the first quarter. McK: 9 JHS: 7

This season, McKinley’s team, on offense and defense, has been described as being filled with speed and a lot of physicality. As these young men enter the field, you can certainly see the power they possess. Jackson’s QB, continued to connect with Phillips and  Colando but just could not break through the Bulldogs defense.

In the second quarter, the Polar Bear’s defense aimed to put constant pressure on QB Rode’s in hopes to force him to make poor decisions and mistakes. Leading the defense were Jordan Warmath, Kyle Benson, Anthony Fuline, Foster Stanley, and Nathan Kuntz. At the end of the half, the score was McK: 21 JHS: 7

The Bulldog’s would go on to score again in the third quarter. McKinley: 27 – Jackson: 7.  In the fourth quarter, the Bears were persistent and never gave up. Zakariyya Saleh, #85, had a nice drag down of #12 Nino Hill who was on the run. The ball was handed off to Hill once again and #65 and #33, both swarmed in for the tackle. As McKinley’s center hikes the ball, Jackson’s #65 chases down, the Bulldog QB. Incomplete pass… Jackson’s ball. Ecrement starts off with a successful pass to Colando. Quarterback keeper – WOW! What an excellent run! That is followed by a throw to Benson – First Down. Another QB keeper, as Ecrement scrambles – 1st and Goal. As the remaining seconds clicked off the game clock, the final is McKinley: 27  JHS: 7

After the game, Jackson’s Purple Army put on another beautiful Blacklight show! As the lights went out in the stadium, the Hawaiian Beach theme performance began to glow. Surfin’ USA, Hawaii 5-0 Theme Song, Soaking Up the Sun, and Surf were played as the Purple Army’s spectacular choreography amazed the crowd. At one point, members of the band danced with glimmering beach balls and surf boards. The Polar Bear mascot sat in a huge beach chair under a lit umbrella and was sporting pink neon glasses and a cute Hawaiian shirt. The JHS majorettes were dressed in green grass skirts with beautiful flowers in their hair. Their multicolored glowing batons flew air into the air as the crowd continued to cheer. The blacklight show ended with an incredible display of fireworks high above the stadium.

Congratulations to the Class of 2024! We are so very proud of you all!
