BRACKET – Cleveland State Men’s Basketball Get 8th Seed And Rematch With Youngstown Coming UP Friday In Detroit

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State men’s basketball team earned the No. 8 seed in the 2017 Little Caesar’s Horizon League Basketball Championship and will open play with a first round game against No. 9 seed Youngstown State on Friday (March 3) at 8:00 pm at Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, Michigan in this single-elimination tournament.

The winner will advance to a second round game on Saturday (March 4) at 5:30 pm against top-seeded Oakland.

CSU (9-21, 5-13 HL) split two games with the Penguins this year, falling 67-64 at YSU on Jan. 28 and earning a 69-55 win over YSU (11-20, 5-13 HL) on Saturday (Feb. 25) at the Wolstein Center.

Seventh-seeded Detroit Mercy will face 10th seeded Milwaukee on Friday at 5:30 pm in the other first round game with that winner advancing to take on second-seeded Valparaiso on Saturday (March 4) at 8:00 pm.

Third-seeded Green Bay will face sixth-seeded UIC in a second round game on Sunday (March 5) at 5:00 pm with fourth-seeded Northern Kentucky facing fifth-seeded Wright State at 7:30 pm.

The semifinals will be played on Monday (March 6) at 7:00 pm and 9:30 pm on ESPNU with the championship game slated for Tuesday (March 7) at 7:00 pm on ESPN.
