2 For 2, Indians Top Boston for Second Straight Game in 6-3 Win; Three Takeaways

3. The Melk Man is on Fire

Yes Greg Allen has been outstanding helping out an outfield that has had its share of injuries this season, but how about the job that Melky Cabrera has done since coming back to the team a few weeks back?

3-for-4 on Tuesday night and he’s raised his average to .275 on the year, and he hit yet another homer, and how about these numbers – since August 12th he’s hitting 14-for-33 (.424) with five homers and 13 RBI.

The thought was that the Indians were almost going to have to do whatever they could to make a move through the waiver wire for an outfielder, but with the way that Cabrera is playing, along with the sudden offense from Greg Allen, the Tribe’s outfield has been on a roll.

The play lately of Cabrera and Allen also softens the blow that Lonnie Chisenhall’s rehab has not progressed as quite as quickly as the team was hoping for.
