Assessing the Carnage in the MAC

Every season a member of the Mid-American Conference jumps up and bites a team in one of the so-called “Power Five” football conferences. It’s almost as if these “guarantee” games, thus named because they provide the MAC team with a guaranteed large check while the Power Five team is supposed to be guaranteed a win, provide some of the more compelling college football of the season.

This year, MAC teams did not disappoint, pulling off a number of huge upsets while coming close in a few other near misses.

This weekend MAC play begins so it’s a good time to look back at the last few weeks of MAC stunners.
