Three Moves The Cleveland Browns Need To Make Today

HUE JACKSON NEEDS TO GIVE UP HIS PLAY CALLING DUTIES

Hue Jackson looks lost and overwhelmed.  He can use every bit of help he can get.  The fact that he spends 99% of his time staring blankly at a play sheet trying to figure out what to call, is a real problem.  Between terrible penalties, constant turnovers and just overall horrible play calling, the offense looks awful.  Most of that falls back on the coach.  Jackson needs to take a step back and hand over the play calling duties to a real OC and not himself.  He is coming across as a glorified quarterback coach.

No one is going to deny the Browns have a lack of weapons, but this ineptitude of offense is despicable.  They had a garbage time touchdown against Cincinnati when the game was winding down and long over.  They had a defensive touchdown last week, and another garbage time touchdown last week against Houston.  This week, they offense failed to find the end zone yet again.  When you lack talent as badly as the Browns do, you need excellent coaching and play calling, Jackson has done neither.

Earlier this season Hue Jackson praised Kevin Hogan for knowing the system.  Being more comfortable in the system.  I have news for Jackson and the Browns, it’s not always the quarterback, the system is awful no matter who is running it.  Five starting quarterbacks have combined to go 1-22 over a season and a half.  No matter who runs it, the results are the same, it doesn’t work!  When your top receiver is a running back (Duke Johnson) and your top tailback has 252 yards over 6 games (Isiah Crowell), the playbook needs thrown out!
