Raptors Head Coach Dwane Casey Fined; Cavs Guard Dahntay Jones Suspended 1 Game

Toronto Raptors Head Coach Dwane Casey was fined $25,000 for criticizing officials following Game 3 on Saturday night.

It marks the second time an opposing coach has been fined by the NBA during this postseason against the Cavaliers. Detroit Pistons Head Coach Stan Van Gundy also was fined $25,000 in Round 1.

Cavaliers guard Dahntay Jones was suspended for one game after the league reviewed a play in which Jones delivered a low blow to Raptors center Bismack Biyombo.

LeBron James was quoted as saying the team “lacks an enforcer” back in March. Not sure this is what he meant by it, but it’s the first time Jones has done anything noteworthy on the court since the Cavs signed him in April.

It didn’t seem to phase Biyombo, who already put up a tremendous performance in the game, hauling in 26 rebounds. We’ll see if the Cavs have more of an answer for him in Game 4, other than delivering cheap shots late in the game.
