Players To Love And Hate In Week Eight Of Fantasy Football

My Lineup:

QB Cam Newton CAR $8,000

No team in the NFL allows more yards per game than the Indianapolis Colts. Newton has been a consistent start week in and week out. His threat to run the ball as well as get rushing touchdowns (2 more points) makes him dangerous and worth the pick this week.

RB Todd Gurley STL $8,100
Speaking of total yards per game, San Francisco is second worst in the NFL. Enjoy starting Gurley for one more week because his cost continues to climb. He has three straight weeks of 125 yards on the ground and has been looking more and more impressive. He can carve up San Fran this week.

RB Danny Woodhead SD $6,100
There’s no big starter that is going to miss this week and you can pick up the backup for cheap. So now it’s down to value plays and guys you can find on the lower side that can get you some of the points you need and hit the home runs on the other guys. Woodhead is one of those guys. He averages almost 15 points a week and the Ravens aren’t good.

WR Antonio Brown PIT $8,400
24. That’s the points per game Antonio Brown was averaging this year before Roethlisberger got hurt. He doesn’t have a great matchup with Cincinnati but with Ben returning and his price at $8,400, I just can’t pass it up this week. Roethlisberger will make sure he feeds Brown again.

WR Keenan Allen SD $8,000
The Ravens give up the second most fantasy points to WRs. Allen has caught double digit passes in three games this year. This matchup should work well for him especially since he is getting healthier.

WR Nate Washington HOU $5,400
I wrote about him last week that he could explode and he sure did. I regret not putting him in my lineup because I was really tempted to. Once again not the best matchup, but you need a value play and he’s worth it. The Texans receivers put up points and with Shorts out again Washington will see targets.

TE Tyler Eifert CIN $6,000
He’s second among TE in points scored. He gets a lot of touchdowns and that should fare well against Pittsburgh this week. They have young linebackers that don’t necessarily cover well. If Roethlisberger scores points than both teams may throw more.

K Justin Tucker BAL $4,900
Tucker is among the best kickers in NFL history. San Diego is terrible against the run so Forsett may have a good game. The Chargers have lost some big games despite scoring a lot of points so there’s a chance Baltimore can move down the field and give Tucker a chance to get them a win.

DEF Rams $5,100
I’m going with the Rams defense for the second week in a row. The 49ers offense has looked bad this year. They lost people on their offensive line and the Rams made the Browns look bad last week. The 49ers don’t have great wide receivers either but like the Rams this week.
