NEOSI’s Studs For 2018 NFL Draft

S Minkah Fitzpatrick Alabama

I only wanted to include one elite secondary player so the decision between Ward and Fitzpatrick was tough. While Ward is more athletic and more of a traditional corner, I like the versatility and production from Fitzpatrick. He can play all the positions in the secondary which is a huge bonus and can be one of the top secondary players like a Jalen Ramsey. If he moves to safety, 4.46 speed is better than average and it would be good enough to hold as a corner if he is needed out there. He has 9 career interceptions and can play man on some RBs or TEs too. He can also blitz off the edge and be pulled up in run support. Moving him all over the place can make it hard for an offense to scheme around him especially when they won’t be sure what he is going to do on that play because he does more than one thing well. Ultimately I would love to see him as a ball-hawking safety who can also move up along the line on occasion.
