Monsters LW Kerby Rychel Recalled by the Blue Jackets

CLEVELAND – Cleveland’s Lake Erie Monsters, proud affiliate of the NHL’s Columbus Blue Jackets, announced Friday that second-year left wing Kerby Rychel was recalled by Columbus in advance of the Blue Jackets’ Friday home game vs. the Toronto Maple Leafs at Nationwide Arena.

A left-handed shooter, Rychel was selected by Columbus with the 19th pick of the first round of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.

A 6’1”, 205 lb. native of Torrance, CA, Rychel registered one assist and a -1 rating in one appearance for Lake Erie this season, a 6-3 Monsters loss to the Rochester Americans at Blue Cross Arena in Rochester, NY on Friday, October 9th.

In five appearances for Columbus during the 2014-15 season, Rychel registered three assists, two penalty minutes and a +3 rating while additionally posting 12 goals, 33 points, 43 penalty minutes and a +7 rating in 51 AHL appearances for the Springfield Falcons last year.
