Medina takes game one behind Kalucis pitching gem!

MEDINA, Ohio – The Bee’s stayed on a role Saturday as they traveled to Buckeye high school to take on the Bucks in a traditional doubleheader. Behind an incredible pitching effort from John Kalucis they shut down Buckeye for a 4-0 game one win.

Collin Winters got things going off of opposing pitcher JC Bastick with a leadoff double to start the contest. He would later be picked off trying to steal third base however. Luckily for the Bee’s, it would not be their last scoring chance.

The Bee’s would get another scoring opportunity in the top of the third and would not let it slip away. They took advantage of a Fultz single and then he advanced to second on a passed ball. Peterson would continue the rally with a single, moving Peterson to third. Fryer would sacrifice Fultz in to score, and Peterson moved up to third to draw first blood.

The Bee’s would only need that one run as Kalucis was cruising. He would finish with seven shutout innings and only allowed 2 hits, he also set down the first 12 hitters he faced. John Kalucis earned “The Learned Owl Book Store” player of the game. “The Learned Owl in Hudson, not just a book store, but an outing for the whole family!”
