Kluber Looks for First Win of 2019 as Indians Battle the Tigers – The Tribe Starting Nine

The Indians are back in action after a day off on Monday, as the team will travel to Comerica Park in Detroit to take on the Tigers in the first of three straight 1:10pm affairs.

The Tigers enter play on Tuesday with a mark of 7-3, half a game up on the Indians who come into play at 6-3 following their four-game sweep of the Toronto Blue Jays.

Corey Kluber will get the start for the Tribe, he will look to rebound after a tough start last Wednesday in a day game at Progressive Field in which he was roughed up by the White Sox.

In that day game Kluber allowed six runs, four earned, on eight hits with three walks and four K’s in just 3.1 innings.

Now at 0-2 on the year, he will look to get back on track as he will go up against Jordan Zimmermann of the Tigers.

Zimmermann has been impressive in two starts for the Tigers, allowing just one run in 13.2 innings, walking one batter and striking out 10.

In his last outing April 2nd against the Yankees, Zimmermann threw 6.2 innings, allowing a run on six hits with a walk and six K’s.

The Tribe and Tigers will play three before the Indians travel to Kansas City for three over the weekend Friday through Sunday.
