Gilmour Falls Behind Early, Loses To Ohio AAA 9-1

GATES MILLS, Ohio- The Gilmour Lancers and Ohio AAA Blue Jackets looked to start the game today right where they left off yesterday.

The Blue Jackets took advantage early, as they struck three times in the first period with goals by Luke Farthing, Hunter Hogue and Elliot Burgin to make it 3-0 at the end of the first. The Lancers were facing one of their largest deficits of the year, as Michael Carr looked rattled between the pipes. They would need a big second period to get back in the game.

The Lancers looked to come out strong in the second stanza, as they needed to get to Eric Metcalf, Ohio AAA’s goalie. Joseph Saracena scored to make it 3-1, but from there it was all Ohio AAA. Connor Pooley and Elliot Burgin were both able to score and open the game up for the Blue Jackets. It was a 5-1 lead for Ohio AAA after two.

The Blue Jackets put four more in the net during the third period, as Alex Barber, Hunter Hogue, Trevor Marcinick and Connor Pooley finished the game strong for Ohio AAA. Ohio AAA truly took advantage of the shots on goal, as they led that category 45-32.

By the final buzzer, Ohio AAA had defeated Gilmour by a final score of 9-1.
