GCHSHL Announces ‘Stars of the Week’ for Week Eight in High School Hockey

The Greater Cleveland High School Hockey League has announced the results from area coaches for their ‘Stars of the Week,’ players who “above and beyond” their normal play.

Here’s the players chosen by area coaches as stars of the week:

Blue League

Christian Beckett | CVCA

Christian led the CVCA Royals to a 4-3 win over Normandy with a hat trick and his outstanding play in all three zones set the pace for his teammates. Christian followed that up with an solid 2 goal performance in the Royals 3-1 win over Twinsburg.

Matt Crossman | Brooklyn

In league play, as a defenseman, Matt had 3 goals & 3 assists in 2 games including the game winning goal in OT vs Mayfield. Finished the week with a hat trick in a non league 3-1 win vs Twinsburg.

Red League

Shane Malinak | North Olmsted

Shane scored all three goals in North Olmsted’s 3-2 overtime win over Midview on Saturday. On Sunday, he scored four goals in the Eagles’ 6-0 win over Kent Roosevelt to take over the top spot in the Red South.

Logan Perkins | Midview

1/20/17 vs Cleveland Hts 2-1 W, 33 shots, 32 saves 97% save percentage. 1/21/17 vs N. Olmsted 3-2 L, 28 shots, 25 saves 89% save percentage
