Former WWE Superstar Rosey Passes Away at Age 47

NEO Sports Insiders is saddened to report the passing of former WWE Superstar Rosey.  Real name Matt Anoai.  I’m speaking from personal experience of meeting him, he was a nice man always willing to leave free tickets for fans in exchange for a ride around town when needed.

As many of you know, he was part of the famed Anoai wrestling family.  His father was Sika of the Wild Samoans.  He was cousins with Rikishi, Yokozuna, The Rock and Umaga, as well as brothers with current WWE Mega Star Roman Reigns.

He had a short Tag Team title reign in 2005 alongside tag team partner Hurricane Helms.

We here at NEO Sports Insiders would like to send our condolences to the entire Anoai family.

Matt was 47 at the time of his passing.

The family released a statement Tuesday:

“The Anoa’i family is mourning the loss of Sika’s son, Matt aka Rosey, due to an untimely death.

“We want to let his fans know that he loved them and the wrestling world so much. In his passing, he left three beautiful young children and a heartbroken family. Please respect the privacy of his children and family as they mourn the loss of this kind, loving, gentle man, who was a father, son, brother and a superhero to us all.

“Our family appreciates your prayers and continued support during this very difficult time.”
