Danny Salazar to Start Thursday Against White Sox

Indians manager Terry Francona announced that right-handed pitcher Danny Salazar will start against the Chicago White Sox on Thursday.

Salazar’s last outing came on Aug. 6, when he allowed six earned runs in two innings to the Minnesota Twins.

The 26-year-old was placed on the 15-day disabled list with elbow inflammation, but has been recovering over the past two weeks and appears ready to go according to Indians pitching coach Mickey Calloway.

Salazar is 11-4 on the season with a 3.38 ERA and despite struggling in July, he will be a vital member of the Tribe rotation as the team marches towards the playoffs.
