Cavaliers keep momentum to build lead over Bucks; three takeaways from 116-97 win

1. Bench mob

The bench was a sore subject last year in Cleveland. After all, LeBron James referred to the team as “top heavy as s***.”

Through two games though, it’s pretty obvious that the Cavs are more than content to spread the wealth around, and the bench had quite the performance on Friday night. The Wine and Gold bench outscored Milwaukee’s bench, 45-23.

The standout in that group was Kyle Korver, who recorded 17 points and hit five three-pointers. Three of those deep shots came in the third quarter to help the Cavs expand their lead from three points to 12 points.

It also helped that the team kept their focus in the third quarter and didn’t get complacent after halftime like they did in the Boston game. As a result, they headed into the final frame with a 13-point lead.
