Carrasco Looks to Get the Indians to 9-4 as They Battle the Royals in K.C.

The Indians will wake up Friday morning in Kansas City getting set for a three-game weekend set with the Royals, sitting at 8-4, good for first place by a half game over the Detroit Tigers in the AL Central.

If you look at the weekend pitching machups, you can see the Indians have an advantage with better game odds to come out a winner against the Royals in all three matchups.

Friday night the team will send Carlos Carrasco on the mound for the Tribe, as he will face Brad Keller for the Royals, a game that will very much favor the Tribe.

Saturday, Carrasco was solid against the Toronto Blue Jays at home, leading the Indians to a win as the offense did more than enough, scoring eight runs in the win.

Carrasco sits at 1-1 on the season, he wasn’t great in his first start in Minnesota on a cold Sunday at Target Field, but rebounded nicely against the Jays, allowing two runs in five innings, striking out 12 with just one walk.

In two starts this season, Carrasco has 16 strikeouts, with just two walks, an impressive number for the Indians number three starter behind Corey Kluber and Trevor Bauer.

Keller is a young 23-year-old thrower for the Royals, and he enters action on Friday night at Kauffman Stadium with a mark of 1-1 with a 2.84 ERA.

Keller is coming off a 3-1 loss to the Tigers, in which he allowed three runs in six innings, allowing five hits, three walks and three strikeouts.

His best start of the three this season came in his first start, a 5-3 win over the Chicago White Sox back in the opener on March 28th.

That day Keller was at this best, going seven innings, allowing just two hits, no runs with a walk and five strikeouts in maybe his best outing as a starter for Kansas City.

The last time out against the Indians, Keller went seven innings, allowing three runs on 11 hits in an eventual 3-1 Indians win on September 5th.

Here’s the rundown of the weekend series against the Royals, as the Indians come in four games over .500 at 8-4, the Royals in the AL Central basement at 2-10.
