Browns Wide Receiver Jarvis Landry Makes Pitch To Former LSU Teammate Odell Beckham Jr. In Hopes Of Him Joining Cleveland

As soon as wide receiver Jarvis Landry was traded to the Cleveland Browns earlier this month, he made sure to let everyone know that Cleveland was the spot to be and urged top free agents to make their way over to the AFC North to join him. While some of the recruiting efforts didn’t work out, something tells us this next pitch will go well for Landry.

In the latest attempt to strengthen the offensive side of the ball, Landry has reached out to former LSU teammate and current New York Giants star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. The two starred together as a flashy duo at LSU from 2011-2013. Landry went to Twitter earlier today as soon as the news came out that Beckham Jr. wouldn’t play another game for the Giants without a new contract.

Beckham Jr. has put up superb stats in his first four years in the league, amassing 313 receptions and 4,424 receiving yards along with 38 touchdowns. He’s been a problem for many NFL defenses due to his game-changing speed and ability to run crisp routes, something that has been noted since his college days in the SEC. When with Landry in college, the two compiled 280 receptions and 4,149 receiving yards and scored 27 touchdowns over the course of three years.

Though a headache on and off the field at times, the talent is obviously there for Beckham Jr. to go down as an all-time great. The latest run-in for the troubled star was a video in which he appeared to be smoking a “brown cigarette”. Since then, even more alarms have been sounded around the league about him and his ability to remain a stable and consistent player in the NFL. But Cleveland could be one of the landing spots if the Giants were open to trading Odell simply because of the cap space alone to re-sign him.
