Indians Roster Moves: Chisenhall to Start Year on DL, Crockett Sent to AAA

The Indians just announced roster moves as they get into their last week in Goodyear, AZ before coming home for the opener a week from today against the Red Sox.

+ LHP KYLE CROCKETT optioned to AAA Columbus

+ Placed OF LONNIE CHISENHALL will start the year on the 15-day Disabled List with left wrist impingement. He will go on the DL officially on Sunday.

+ Informed RHP DAN OTERO, OF MARLON BYRD and OF COLLIN COWGILL that barring unforeseen, they have each made the Opening Day roster.

+ Informed OF ROBBIE GROSSMAN he will not make season-opening roster.

+ LHP TOM GORZELANNY will remain with the organization and will return to Major League camp tomorrow prior to season-opening assignment.

With Chisnehall starting the year on the DL, it’s likely that either Byrd or Cowgill will get playing time with the team, along with Joey Butler who the team picked up during the winter meetings in Nashville in December.
