Trailing 2-0 in the fourth inning, Massillon Washington () scored seven of the final eight runs en route to a 7-3 sectional championship victory over Dover (). Sophomore Tyler Hackenbracht had a day for the Tigers, going 2-4 at the plate with two RBI.

Though both sides would threaten early on, the Crimson Tornadoes would be the first to crack through on the scoreboard. In the top of the fourth, Ben Hamm hit a lead off double and would come around to score when Mason Grewell hit a double of his own, putting Dover up 1-0. After a sacrifice bunt moved Grewell to third, Jonah Marks came through with an RBI double to put them up 2-0.

In the home half of the fourth, Hackenbracht hit the first pitch he saw for a leadoff single. Matt McGeorge would follow that up with a walk and, after a sacrifice bunt, Drew Stitt hit a two-run single to tie things up at 2-2.

In the bottom of the fifth, Gavin Marceric led off the inning with a single, followed up with a single from Brennen Crowe. Though Marceric would be thrown out at third, Crowe would come home to score on a Borck Polilli groundout to give the Tigers a 3-2 lead after five innings.

It took no time at all for Dover to respond, as the Tornado bats got hot in the sixth. Two walks and a fielder’s choice gave them the bases loaded with two outs. Facing a full count, Hunter Edwards drew an RBI walk to tie the game at 3-3.

In the bottom of the sixth, Chase Duplain led off the inning for the Tigers with a single. A sacrifice bunt from Xavier Hamid moved Duplain over to third, and a Marceric single gave them runners on second and third with one out. Up came Crowe, who beat out a bunt single to score Duplain and put Massillon up 3-2. Hackenbracht then drilled the first pitch he saw deep into the outfield, scoring Marceric and Crowe. Two throwing errors on the play would allow Hackenbracht to end up scoring, making the score 7-3 Tigers.

Hackenbracht then came on and retired the side in the top of the seventh, giving Massillon a 7-3 sectional championship win. Up next for the Tigers is a district semifinal matchup with top seeded Massillon Jackson at Thurman Munson Memorial Stadium Tuesday afternoon in Canton. First pitch is scheduled for 2 pm.
