SOCCER: Cleveland Ambassadors Settle For 3-3 Draw Against The Columbus Eagles FC

Soccer

KENSTON, Ohio – The Cleveland Ambassadors knew that they may be in for a long night on Sunday as several key members of their team were missing.  Those members had joined a mission trip with several other top area soccer stars to travel to Mexico and work with the youth of Los Lavaderos.

It was an honorable mission, and one those young women should be extremely proud of.  However, that being said, the Ambassadors could have used all hands on deck Sunday night as they endured a second half collapse, surrendering a 3 goal lead to settle for the draw against the Columbus Eagles FC.

The Cleveland Ambassadors jumped out to a 3 goal lead, with goals in the 13th minute by Anna Rico, the 14th minute by Emily Ogle and 44th minute by Kayla Fischer.  The 3-0 lead at the break, looked like it would be large enough to stand up before a furious second half rally by the Columbus Eagles FC.

Less then seven minutes into the second half, the Columbus Eagles FC began their rally as Micaela Powers got the Eagles on the board.  The momentum was squarely in the corner of the Eagles, as 12 minutes later it was Amber Kern also finding the back of the net.  With the lead on shaky ground, the Eagles finally tied it for good as Erin Brockway popped one over the goalie to end the game in a 3-3 Draw.
