Parma Edges Valley Forge, 66-62

The fifth-seeded Parma Redmen crept past the tenth-seeded Valley Forge Patriots 66-62 in a rivalry game in the first round of a division I sectional game.

Parma and Valley Forge went back and forth in the first quarter, as the Patriots led by one at the end of the first

The second quarter was more of the same. Both teams played tight defense and both teams really had to earn their points.

Valley Forge maintained a two-point lead heading into halftime.

Valley Forge started to pull further away with fast-paced offense and great defense. The Patriots were up four going into the fourth.

In the huddle before the fourth quarter, Parma’s coach Mike Durkin got the team really hyped up to get back in the game.

Parma was able to win the fourth quarter, outscoring Valley Forge by eight.

Zach Gronowski finished with a game-high 25 points,

Valley Forge’s leading scorer was Taylor Pupkiewicz with 22.

Valley Forge finishes the season with a record of 4-17.

Parma advances to visit first-seeded St. Ignatius on Saturday, March 4th. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m.
