Olmsted Falls Bulldogs Take A Bite Out Of Lakewood 49-14

The Olmsted Falls Bulldogs have been an up and down team thus far this season, but Tom DeLuca’s Bulldogs played perhaps their best game yet tonight in Lakewood with a dominating effort over the Rangers.  They ran the ball at will, and came away with the 49-14 victory to improve to 3-1 on the young season.

The Bulldogs boast a three headed rushing monster in the form of backs Michael Howard & Jack Spellacy, along with perhaps the most mobile quarterback in the SWC, Teddy Grendzynski.  All three of them had their way with the Ranger defense tonight.

The scoring started in the first quarter for the Bulldogs and never let up from there.  Spellacy who is known for short yard goal line rumbles stuck true to form with a 2-yard bruising rush to pay dirt.  Howard who is always one to keep camera’s popping with long runs, did exactly that with an electric 55 yard scamper to score in the first.

The punishment continued in the second quarter and it was 42-0 at the halftime.  The Rangers tried to mount a small rally in the second half, but with the running clock, it would be far too little far to late as they still trailed 49-7 after 3 quarters of play.  Both teams managed to score one more time before it was over.

The Bulldogs will play next weekend as they travel to take on another set of Rangers in North Ridgeville.  Those Rangers also lost tonight at the hands of Berea-Midpark, the final in that one was 52-17 Titans.

Lakewood will try once again for their first win of the season next week as they travel to Avon Lake to take on the unbeaten Avon Lake Shoremen.
