Ocir Kimble’s 3 TDs Propel Lorain to Victory Over Willoughby South, 20-7

Willoughby South got on the scoreboard first when linebacker Gabe Hanslik returned a fumble for a touchdown to take a 7-0 lead in the first quarter.

Lorain tied up the game at 7-7 when Ocir Kimble scored on a 72 yard touchdown run near the end of the first quarter. Both defenses would tighten up and not give up any points in the second and third quarter.

However, in the 4th quarter, Lorain pulled away from South to score two touchdowns and get a 20-7 victory.

Lorain took a 14-7 lead early in the fourth quarter on a 14-yard touchdown run by Ocir Kimble for his second touchdown of the game.

Lorain made the final score 20-7 with under three minutes to play when Kimble scored from two yards out for his third rushing touchdown of the game.

After not fielding a football team in 2020, and finishing the previous two seasons at 1-10, and 3-8, the victory over South moves Lorain to 4-1 for the 2023 season.

In addition, Lorain will likely be ranked in the top ten of Region 1 (OHSAA Division I) heading into a week six matchup against Garfield Heights.

Willoughby South will face Riverside on Friday night.
