Medina Bees Sophomore Elizabeth Stuart the NEOSI Jenny’s Old Fashioned Popcorn HS Player Of The Week for Week Seven

This past week the weather has been freezing, but that didn’t stop our biggest turnout vote wise of the year as over 800 fans voted for our week seven edition of the “NEOSI Jenny’s Old Fashioned Popcorn HS Player Of The Week.”

It was a two student athlete race, as a pair of 10th grade basketball standouts, Medina Bees Elizabeth Stuart and VASJ’s Jaden Hameed fought it out for the right to win our award this week.

In the end by the closest of margins, it was Stuart taking home the award for the week, winning it on behalf of the undefeated lady Bees from Medina.

Here’s the results for the voting:

Medina Bees Sophomore Elizabeth Stuart 41 Percent of the Votes
VASJ Basketball Sophomore Jaden Hameed 40 Percent of the Votes
Mayfield Wildcats Basketball star Michael Favazzo 18 Percent of the Votes
Kent Roosevelt Hockey Forward Nick Krestan 1 Percent of the Votes
Avon Lake Shoremen Diver Michael Slaughter 0 Percent of the Votes
Berea-Midpark Titans swimmer Lexi Schuller 0 Percent of the Votes

Stuart took home the award with a big week on the court for the Bees.

The sophomore guard scored a career-high 21 points in a win for the undefeated Bees as they topped Mentor.

All of Stuart’s points came over a 6:30 span in the win over the lady Cardinals, as she hit five three-point hoops in the win.

Stuart is not just a stellar basketball player, she is also the top tennis player at Medina High School.

The sophomore joins Kenston hockey standout Bennett Wegner as he took home the week six award.

Dom Conte of the Olmsted Falls Bulldogs took home the week four award, Gilmour Basketball Guard Annika Corcoran was our week five winner, CVCA Hockey Forward Christian Beckett was the week three winner, North Ridgeville wrestler Jacob Dunstan, won the award for week two, and Berea-Midpark’s Josh Finkovich, took home the award in week one.

Congrats to Elizabeth and the lady Bees for what’s been an amazing season thus far!
