BEREA, Ohio – It only took a week or so for things to get spicy at Browns training camp. While things inside the camp have been calm, a rash of injuries to the Dallas Cowboys have stirred up trade talk with our home town heroes in Brown and Orange.
The Cowboys are in the market for a backup quarterback after losing Kellen Moore to a broken ankle. Nick Foles was at the top of that list, but he signed with the Chiefs on Wednesday night. Last year’s part time Browns starting quarterback Josh McCown is now the number one contender to be dealt to Dallas for what is rumored to be a third or fourth round draft pick.
The Browns are hesitant to deal Josh because they still don’t know what they have in RGIII who has been relevant since 2012. McCown, is a competent backup who can seamlessly transition into a starting role if needed. They would hate to lose his presence in the QB room as well.
Josh McCown had this to say in regards to his current situation in Cleveland, “I’m going to do everything I can to help this team and to be ready to make this ball team. That’s how you have to play and if you want to be a good player, that’s how you approach it anyway. What do I need to do today to solidify my job, to keep my job, and to keep playing at the level I expect to play at? That’s my mindset going into camp. I have that kind of focus. It’s also to be able to share with these young guys and help get them ready. So that’ll be my approach.”
Things may get very tasty in Berea soon. One thing is for sure, things will always be tasty at Matteo’s Casual Italian Restaurant in Olmsted Falls.
Chef Tony’s first weekend special is Dover sole filet baked over a Blue Crab, bread crumb, onion and bell pepper stuffing, with roasted garlic mashed potatoes, and our lobster sherry cream sauce.
His second special feature is Manicotti – Fresh pasta stuffed with ricotta, and Parmesan cheeses, along with fresh basil, topped with your choice of Matteo’s house red sauce or marinara sauce.
