LeBron takes over as Cavs topple Nuggets; three takeaways

2. But about the need for the King’s heroics…

The Cavs led by as many as 16 points in this game, but really lost some major momentum in the third quarter.

They managed to score just 19 points in the frame, while Denver’s Nikola Jokic scored 17 on his own. Denver also demolished them on the glass, 19-6. Heading into the fourth, the Cavs had just a two-point lead, 89-87.

The Nuggets came out of the gate strong in the final quarter as well, and took their first lead of the game with 8:35 left thanks to a spin move from Mason Plumlee, capping a 19-4 run.

From that point, Kyle Korver, Jeff Green and George Hill all hit crucial 3-pointers paving the way for LeBron James.
