LeBron James earns First Team All-NBA honors

LeBron James has been named to the All-NBA First Team for the 11th straight year.

This is the 12th time James has made First Team honors, an NBA record, and the 14th time in his 15-year career that he has been selected to an All-NBA team. Kobe Bryant and Karl Malone previously held the record with 11 First Team selections.

James was one of two players to be unanimously named to the First Team, along with Houston Rockets guard James Harden.

James averaged 27.5 points, 8.6 rebounds and 9.1 assists per game this season, the first in which he played in all 82 regular season games. His rebound and assist numbers are new career-highs. James also put up career-high numbers in double-doubles (52) and triple-doubles (18). During February, he averaged a triple-double, the first time he’s done so in a calendar month.

Other highlights in James’ year include earning Eastern Conference Player of the Month accolades four times, and being an All-Star Game captain.

No matter all the drama that has surrounded the Cavs’ this season, including them currently being down 3-2 in the Eastern Conference Finals to the Boston Celtics, James put on a spectacle nearly every night– which has made the organizational drama that much more frustrating.

Joining James and Harden with First Team honors are New Orleans’ Anthony Davis, Portland’s Damian Lillard and Golden State’s Kevin Durant. Kevin Love was the only other Cavalier to receive an All-NBA vote.
