Lake County Wins Pitching Duel with Bowling Green in 1-0 Victory: Three Takeaways From the Win

2. A Pitching Gem

Starting with Micah Miniard throwing a solid 4.1 allowing five hits and three walks, to Henry Martinez pitching a 1-2-3 ninth for his second save of the year, the Captains were just a little bit better on the mound in the 1-0 win.

Miniard lowered his ERA to 0.75 in three starts, throwing 87 pitches, 50 strikes. He wasn’t able to get out of the 5th to earn the win, but set the tempo for Ben Krauth.

All the lefty from Concord, California did was throw 3.1 innings, allowing one hit and striking out five Hot Rod batters in the process.

The Captains have six wins on the season, and Krauth already has three of them to go along with a 0.00 ERA on the season.
