Kirtland Boys Soccer Team Wins 9th Game in a Row With A 9-0 Victory Over Crestwood

The Kirtland Hornets Boys Soccer Team defeated Crestwood on Tuesday night, 9-0.  The victory was the Hornets ninth victory in a row.

The Hornets got the first half off to a quick start as they took a 6-0 lead into halftime.

After halftime the Hornets scored 3 additional goals.  

The Hornets were led by Vince Carriero and Luka Oroz who both had two goals for the game.

Also scoring goals for the Hornets on Tuesday night included Nickolas Barisic, Derrick Clucas, Eli Johnson, Xavier Lasecki, and Vincent Vukovic.  

Leading the Hornets in assists against Crestwood was Anand Sundararajan who had four assists on the night.

Sundararajan is currently one of the top goal scorers and assist leaders in the Cleveland area.

In fact, he is tied for 13th in the Cleveland area (Division III) in goals scored (7) with teammates Luka Oroz and Aidan Whited.

In addition, Sundararajan is tied for second in the Cleveland area (Division III) with 14 assists.  Currently, Sundararajan’s teammate and Kirtland captain Nickolas Barisic leads the Cleveland area (Division III) with 16 assists.

After the contest, Sundararajan talked about Kirtland’s performance against Crestwood.

“I think that we moved the ball pretty well, switched it from side to side, just played good soccer,”  said Sundararajan. “I think getting it down the line and then cutting it back was the main thing (that helped us perform well).”

Kirtland will face Madison on Thursday night as they will try to win their tenth game in a row.
