Andy Kavcic Runs For 3 TDs and Cooper Panteck Passes for 3 TDs as Gilmour Defeats Cleveland Central Catholic 39-14

Andy Kavcic ran for three touchdowns and Cooper Panteck passed for three touchdowns as Gilmour was victorious over Cleveland Central Catholic 39-14.

 

“We just really wanted to come back and bounce back this week,” said Cooper Panteck. “So we really came in with a different kind of mindset this week at practice. Short week, so we liked it. We had a lot less time, but in the long run it’s better because we came back out here and we did what we needed to do. We got our confidence back up.”

And as Quarterback Cooper Panteck said, Gilmour bounced back early and often in the first half of Thursday night’s game against Cleveland Central Catholic.

Gilmour scored early in the first quarter as Cooper Panteck completed a touchdown pass to Brody Lennon as Gilmour took a 6-0 lead.

 

Less than three minutes later, Gilmour scored their second touchdown when Andy Kavcic scored with 8:22 left in the first quarter to make the score 13-0.

Gilmour added two additional touchdowns in the first quarter to make the score 26-0.

Gilmour scored on a 13-yard touchdown run by Andy Kavcic to take a 19-0 lead.

 

Gilmour then scored their fourth touchdown of the first quarter on a touchdown pass from Cooper Panteck to Lars Broberg.

 

The Lancers added two touchdowns in the second quarter. 

Andy Kavcic had an amazing touchdown run with 10:01 left in the second quarter as Gilmour took a 33-0 lead.

 

Gilmour scored their final touchdown of the night on a 50- yard touchdown pass from Cooper Panteck to Sean Dillard to take a 39-0 lead into halftime.

Cleveland Central Catholic made the score 39-6 on a 70-yard touchdown run by Amare Washington in the third quarter.

Cleveland Central Catholic added a touchdown by Sirius Jones late in the fourth quarter to make the final score 39-14.

After the game, Gilmour’s standout running back Andy Kavcic talked about what the team is focused on as they prepare for the OHSAA playoffs.

 

“Got some tough teams coming up, so we just need to stay focused in practice and stay locked in,” Kavcic said. “You know it’s a great win, so we need to build off this and then head into the playoffs playing our best football.”

With the victory Gilmour moves to 5-2 on the season.

Gilmour will next host Brush in a week eight matchup on Friday October 6th.
