Johnny Manziel’s Father Attempted to Check Him into Treatment Twice This Week

Johnny Manziel’s father, Paul told the Dallas Morning News on Friday, “I truly believe if they can’t get him help, he won’t live to see his 24th birthday.”

On Friday, Manziel’s agent Erik Burkhardt also expressed worry for Manziel, and announced that he is terminating their professional relationship.

Johnny’s father Paul first attempted to get him into treatment on Saturday afternoon, but he would not stay.

Paul told the Dallas Morning News he tried again on Tuesday to get Johnny committed into another rehab facility on Tuesday, but they let him leave.

Wednesday night, Johnny was with his friends sitting courtside at the Dallas Mavericks game.

When asked about the status of the 23-year-old on Friday, Browns Owner Jimmy Haslam said, “We’ve reached out several times since all this came out last Saturday, just like we would any player. I think it’s enough said on the issue. I think it’s a personal issue now. It’s not a football issue.”

Indeed, Mr. Haslam. Indeed.
