James and Irving Combine For 81 as Cavaliers Break 3 Pt Record!

The Cavaliers broke the record for most Three Pointers made in a single game with 25 from downtown against Atlanta Friday night.

Cleveland made 25 of 46 3s to break a record that stood less than three months. Houston made 24 treys in a 122-100 win over New Orleans on Dec. 16.  In a game where LeBron James and Kyrie combined to score 81 as James had 38 and Irving had 43, it was the former Atlanta Hawk Kyle Korver hitting the biggest shot of the night for the Wine & Gold.

The Cavaliers had led by as many as 25, but late in the fourth the Hawks had quelled the lead down to 1 at 125-124 when Krover stepped up to hit the record breaking three pointer for the Cavs, putting them ahead for good.

The Cavaliers would hang on to win 135 – 130.  The win approved their overall record to 42-18 and 3.5 games ahead of Boston for the number one overall seed in the Eastern Conference.

It was a sweet moment for Korver as this came against the team he most recently played with and had his best success with as well.

The 25 3 pointers came from several sources as it seemed as though everyone on the roster wanted in on the mix.

LeBron James went 6 of 10

Channing Frye went 3 of 6

Kyrie Irving went 5 of 10

Iman Shumpert went 2 of 6

Kyle Korver went 3 of 7

Derrick Williams went 3 of 4

Richard Jefferson went 3 of 5

A record breaking night for your Wine & Gold!
