Francisco Lindor to Join Indians Friday, Will Have Ankle Looked at Before Coming off the IL

It sounds more and more like the Indians might have their All-Star shortstop back by the weekend, as Francisco Lindor will be back with the Tribe on Friday.

If he will be activated or not – that’s the big question.

The Indians shortstop will appear in another minor-league rehab game Thursday before rejoining the Indians Friday according to Zack Meisel of The Athletic.

At that point the team will take a long look at his left ankle to see if he’s ready to be activated off the injured list.

Lindor hit a homer Tuesday with Triple-A Columbus, and so far in two games, he’s gone 2-for-8 with one home run.

The Tribe’s offense seems to be coming into form, as Carlos Gonzalez joined the team earlier this week, as did second basemen Jason Kipnis.
