Former Cavaliers Coach Ty Lue Reported to Be Heading to the Clippers as Assistant Coach

Former Cavaliers head coach Ty Lue has a new job, as the former Cavs front man will be an assistant head coach for the Los Angeles Clippers.

Marc Stein of The Stein Line reports that Lue and the Clippers are “closing in” on making Lue the top assistant to Clippers coach Doc Rivers.

Lue was fired as coach of the Cavs six games into the season after the team went winless in those first six games. He did lead the team to their only NBA Title back in 2016.

Overall Lue had a 128-83 record in his three-plus seasons as the head coach of the Cavs after taking over mid-season in 2016 for David Blatt.
