Deal or No Deal: Will The Browns Sign Their Impending Free Agents?

Browns

DB Johnson Bademosi
DEAL

I hate him in coverage especially when they put him at corner instead of at safety where I think he’s a better fit. So why resign him? There is one thing he is really good at. He’s one of the best gunners in the NFL on special teams. Once again the Browns have to keep some of the best guys at their position in the NFL because trying to bring in guys is going to be much harder to sell than resigning some of their own.

DT Jamie Meder
TRYOUT DEAL

Cleveland has to do something to fix its run defense. Whether that’s cutting some of the starters, bringing in new guys, etc. something has to happen. Meder played this season in a reserve role. He shined bright in the preseason but when the regular season came around barely saw playing time. I would bring him back on another small one year deal to see if he can prove his way onto the team. If he can good, if not someone better makes the team.

OLB Scott Solomon
DEAL

He came on strong in the last couple games of the 2014 season in relief of injuries that he was able to come back this season to be the starting strong side OLB. His season took a turn for the worst with an injury week one that he never came back from and missed the rest of the season. The Browns recorded only 29 sacks as a team this year with most of them coming from defensive lineman. The team can use a guy that cover people on the strong side and work towards stopping the run like Solomon was supposed to. That can make room for guys like Kruger or possibly Joey Bosa to come in and focus on rushing the passer where they are more of a natural fit.
