Cleveland State Vikings

Cleveland State Falls to Youngstown State, 67-64

Cleveland State concluded its four-game road swing with a 7:00 PM ET game at Youngstown State this Saturday in which they lost by a score of 67-64.

The Vikings are now 6-16 overall and 2-8 in the Horizon League.

YSU is now 10-13 overall and 4-6 in the Horizon League.

Demonte Flannigan finished with 16 points and 5 rebounds, Bobby Word had 14 points, and Anthony Wright contributed 11 points and 9 rebounds.  Kasheem Thomas recorded 5 points and 10 assists.

YSU’s Cameron Morse led all scorers with 23 points, while Brett Frantz had 17 points on the night.

The Vikings I will say tend to play to the level of their competition if the competition is of equal talent and similar record.  They seem to have trouble playing their own style of basketball and fall into poor trends on defense and do not commit to a level of consistency required to finish games on offense.

The Vikings return home to host Detroit at 7:00 PM ET on Thursday, Feb. 2, and will also host Oakland on Saturday, Feb. 4, at 2:00 PM ET in the Wolstein Center.
