Cavs lack energy, fall to the Wizards 119-95

Washington DC- For those of you who were hoping the good brand of basketball the Cleveland Cavaliers played last night traveled with them to DC, overt your eyes. The Washington Wizards won their third straight Wednesday night, defeating the Cavaliers 119-95.

The Cavaliers allowed the Wizards to score an opponent season high in the first quarter (41) and the battle was uphill from there. Cleveland knew coming into the game that Washington was a team that usually had strong first halves, but the Wizards normally strike in the second. Although the Wizards lead was only 12 after one, the second quarter wasn’t much better for the Cavs.

On the heels of scoring their first half high last night, the Cavaliers defense returned the favor, giving up (73) points in the first. Trailing by 21 at the half, this one felt over at the break. Although the Cavaliers were able to cut things down to 13 in the third, Washington was able to keep their lead around 20 much of the second half.

The energy and effort that made the Cavaliers successful last night, was nonexistent tonight for the Wine and Gold. The Cavaliers have a few days off before they take on Detroit on Monday, it’ll be good for this team to get some days of practice. There have been signs of life in this team through the (2-12) start, but far too many times has the fight been lacking.
